Hello,
I am totally a green horn here. I done some reading and it sounds like I would like the masterbuilt electric 40" I figure that would be the easiest way to get learn then advance to charcoal down the road. But I got a couple of questions.
I read a electric will only go to 275 degrees and if I was to do a chicken it won't smoke good taste rubbery ? Also I read about Amazzing pellet cooker I guess you can use it in a electric smoker. Where can I get more info on this? We are going to get a hog to raise and butcher and want to smoke a ham and bacon. Thanks for the help

Are you dead set on electric? I've had just about every grill and smoker out there and for me pellet grills are the best for smoking. I have a rec tec but there are other good brands as well

After doing some research I think I might go with a pellet or charcoal starting to research pellet. I think I would want to cook with it as well as smoke meat. My brother in law big smoke hollow with a side box that looks to be good quality. Thanks

Hi. I just saw your post. I have an electric smoker and had successfully smoked chicken many times. I start with organic chicken, usually brine it in water/salt solution overnight and then butterfly it, seasone it really well and smoke on 250 with applewood chips. I usually add chips several times during the smoking.
