I use the flameboss 200 wifi and I use this thing just about every time I smoke and I think this thing is awesome I have an xl bge the best thing about this is I can smoke while I'm sleeping or at work due to working 14-15 hrs a day I can't monitor my pit all the time. However I've noticed during my long smokes I get wild temperature fluctuations on the pit side so I started using 2 pit probes to take a average temperature for when I'm away and I've been noticing some strange things happening in my smoker. Does anyone else ever come across this problem or is it just my probe placement that is messing up temperature readings? I light center of the lump coal and let it burn outwards as I smoke so I don't know if a probe is just catching a hot coal or if my grill is really fluctuating that many degrees

Not sure if I can help but I used the flame boss 200 on both my 18.5" and 22.5" smokers. I experienced wide temperature swings in both smokers especially in long cooks. I used BBQ Guru party Q and then moved up to the Dx2. Both kept my smokers very steady. I returned my flame boss back to Amazon and was all to happy to do it at that. I went back to my BBQ Guru and back to stable temperatures.

Sorry if this is not helpful but is my experience with flame boss.
