I'm so lucky my gf loves to bake. There's always a new dessert being made(or planned) almost daily. And to think, that's a small pie(8" pie pan) for her. She usually makes them "tire size", as I call them, in a 12" springform pan. The last berry pie used 4-5 lbs(6-8 baskets) of fresh berries. jaw-dropping.gif

Thanx!!!

I have the hardest time eating chicken with a rubbery skin. I used to toss them onto my kettle for a high heat, reverse sear to crisp it up. But it just seemed to be a waste of time and charcoal, to fire up both the WSM and kettle at the same time, Only to have the chicken on the kettle for a minute or two, at most.

I'll let Priscilla know she earned the internet points for the pie. She's already got butter coming up to room temperature for some more baking today. :yahoo:  No idea what it could be...

Great looking meal you have there Prankster!!  Nice to see some crispy skin on the thighs.

I have to admit that, although I consider meat and potatoes to be the MAJOR food groups, that fruit salad looks terrific!!

:points:

I have to question one thing though.  Is it even legal to cut such an obviously delicious pie into pieces that small???   :ROTF

Thanx for the points!!!

As a former vegetarian(13+ years, let the flaming begin...), I eat lots of fruits and veggies everyday...

Well, the tiny pie slices might have been due to eating too much chicken, fruit salad and asparagus for dinner. And maybe the pulled pork sliders a couple of hours before dinner could have had a minor effect as well.  :icon_eek:

Even my gf was giving me a hard time over the pie slices.  :icon_rolleyes:  Bonus today, large sized slices for me!!! :yahoo:

Today's breakfast, my fruit salad, handful of granola and yogurt...

Fresh, healthy and ready in 2 minutes...

Second Meal from my crispy chicken thighs...

Smoked Chicken, Egg Salad Sammies-The "On Steroids" Version

We're always lookin' for ways to make meal variations using the meat I smoke...

Tonight we a made variation of our egg salad sammies... 241.png

We began with chopped, hard cooked eggs and a homemade garlic aioli mixed together...

Added some crumbled bacon and fresh cracked black pepper...

Spread evenly onto fresh from the bakery, toasted sourdough...

Topped with slices of my smoked chicken thighs...

Some of last summer's canned bounty of Early Girl Tomatoes for lube...

And again served with a fresh fruit salad and grilled asparagus spears...

Another rough Monday in the Santa Cruz mountains, sfprankster style... :yahoo:

Only two more of the sauced thighs left from Saturday's smoke... :icon_eek:
