New from Louisiana

Thread Starter

I'm Shane from Slaughter, Louisiana

Been bbq'ing and smoking about 25 years . Also cook a lot of jambalaya and gumbo, soup and chili that smoked meat pretty much always goes in.

I have an Old Country BBQ/Smoker, a Master Built Gas Smoker 40", Orion Cooker and just built a wooden smoker to start doing some jerky and bacon on. Will be building a 36" by 60" rotisserie smoker pretty soon.

Looking forward to learning more about jerky, back and new recipes.

Thanks

Shane

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn and share ideas. The search bar works great for finding info. If you don't find an answer, start a thread and wait for several different answers.

texas.gif  Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a nice chilly day in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Howdee Yepitsme and welcome to the boards.

When ya get a change click on the "My Profile" icon on the above task bar and take a min to let us know a little bit about yourself. I know you did above but the Profile will follow you every time you join the site. Its important so folks can see where you live so question & answers don't get redundant. Also folks in your neck of the world are more likely to have experienced the same problems or know of the some local vendors where you can find what you need, etc.

Great site to spend some time in, but remember you can give back some of your knowledge for that you recieve. You may have a good nurtra sausage recipe or garfish coubillion. Heck you may make a killer brisket.

Whatever you do jump in to the conversations, ask questions, give help, and most definately cruise the search engine. Remember there is always more than one way, find that one way you'd like and then bend it to your own cooking style.

Have fun. Look forward to your posts.
