Cognac Bread Pudding w/Burnt Caramel and Cognac Glazed Bananas

Just playing around in the kitchen at work last night...

 

 

My gf came up with a special treat...

 

 

Cognac Bread Pudding

 

  

 

  

 

As it was getting late, we ran out of time to complete the topping...

 

 

 

So today, I made some...

 

 

Burnt Caramel and Cognac Glazed Bananas

 

 

A couple of sliced organic bananas...

 

 

 

...some homemade burnt caramel sauce...

 

 

 

...and of course some fine Cognac...

 

 

 

...not fast enough with the camera to catch the cognac as it began to flambe...

 

 

 

...the Cognac Bread Pudding awaiting the finishing touch...

 

 

 

...topped with Burnt Caramel and Cognac Glazed Bananas.

Mmmmmm..... Bread pudding with banana's foster?

Bananas Foster uses rum and aromatic spices in the recipe...

 

...whereas I have a personal liking for cognac... 

 

...so I made my own variation. :icon_mrgreen: 

 

 

 

 

All of the baking, including the bread pudding, is done by my gf. I can only take credit for the topping to this dessert.
