I am starting a new build. It's a 5ft propane with a 24" diameter. The Firefox is going to be 24-24-18deep . I have a couple questions on where the door should go , the Firefox air intake ,and where should the stack go? I ran some numbers on the calculator. It's going to have 4" chimney that should be 41 " . Is it better to put the chimney right on top or should it go on the side grate level? The fb to cc suppose to have a 83 cubic in opening . Will 16-7 half moon work?

Got some work done tonight got the firebox welded up.Instead of doing halfmoon can you do a football cut out?

Is it best mount the Firefox on the tank so it is easier to weld on the bottom before you putt legs ? Then cut the hole to the cc. I did learn a trick on cutting the lid, used skill saw with metal blade . Instead of cutting all the way in and then following the line , it worked better by cutting the grove and just following the grove on top and go back and forward till you cut through. I was surprised we only used 2 blades to cut lid. Took about 2 hrs to cut .

Your talking about the fb to cc should be 108 . I got it thanks i know you must get tired of getting the same questions asked . Thanks again hope to work some tonight

I was going to put a upper grate in cc. How far up do most people put their grates?

The opening from fb to cc should it be what the calculator suggests or is bigger ok and if you go bigger is there a rule by how much?
