Long overdue, but decided I should have probably done this awhile back and might as well play catch up now.
I'm from Iowa, long standing Hawkeye, snagged a MES30 Sept 2013 on a whim (and a good deal) and decided to get my hands dirty, haven't looked back since.
The family loves to convince me (doesn't take much) to smoke something every couple of weeks, started out with chicken/sausage and a pork butt for a first round, not long after got a Maverick and did the Thanksgiving bird. Have been trying something new every couple of smokes, the next on my list is pastrami when I can get some time, which probably won't be prior to the Thanksgiving bird again this year.
Have already started a few threads here and there, decided to get in and get my hands messy with a jerky shooter and making our own beef sticks, which everyone seemed to like, of course I still want to make improvements and think I can do better. Made a whole walkthrough type thread for people to use, as I was completely and utterly clueless to start and figured I might as well document my learning process, can be found here
Other than that, not sure what to add here, just happy for all the help and community thats obviously present here, have a 'To Smoke' list a mile long thanks to this great site and I don't think that will be changing any time soon, no matter how many I tick off.
Thanks again guys, punchin out.
