John, I use Kingsford for my Dutch oven cooking as well as using them in my Mini. Yeah-if you don't have a wind break (even with the D.O's) that wind will make you go through the charcoal.

Hey c farmer-what is your wind break made from? Got to build me a new one. My son stole my plywood wind screen for a building project. He said he was too cheap to spend the bucks needed to buy a half sheet of 3/4 ply. Dang kid anyhoo!

Dutch this last Fall i wanted something to completely cover the smokers from the wind and keep the heat in.   Originally i went to Lowes and all they had was the 4' roll ( too expensive)   They could have ordered the 2' x 25 roll but Menards had it in stock.   That 25' roll did my UDS, Jumbo mini and the mini...couldn't beat it!    I had some metal tape on hand and just seamed the edges together inside and out to make it sturdy.   The UDS i had to seam a piece to the 2' section to make it tall enough... Works great on all the smokers and have had about Summer time fuel usage.   I'll still use the reflectix sleeves in warm weather when it's windy out. Keith
