Well I finally pulled the trigger on getting my Lang.  Ordered the 48" patio this afternoon and found a guy on uShip that is going to get it here tomorrow afternoon.  I can't wait to get some splits and get this thing seasoned.

Just wondering if there is any advice that some of you experienced Lang operators have that would help out this stick burning newbie.

Congrats on your new cooker.

I don't have a lang but do use a stick burner and a big key is to open it up and let it breath. They like to have a good volume of air moving through them, keep a small intense fire going at all times, pre heat the wood and you will enjoy TBS.

Congrats Jeremy your gonna love that smoker. Use splits about the diameter of a magnum beer can. Get a propane weed burner from Harbor Freight or someplace like that and use it to start the splits it makes it pretty easy. You need to add splits before the temp drops with the reverse flow plate by the time the temp drops you'll find the fire is about out. You'll get used to how often to add them time it a few times and you'll know when to add them by time more than anything else to keep it nice and even
