When we smoke poultry we use every last part we can. The remains of the turkey from my last smoke I boiled down yesterday into turkey soup. Tonight I re-heated it and dropped biscuit mix from KathrynN's Buttermilk Biscuit recipe No buter milk so used regular, no Lilly brand flour so used what we have, added Italian seasoning. Dropped on top of the boiling soup, now we have turkey and dumpling stew!

Looks sooo good!!!!!

Your simple Buttermilk biscuits worked well for the dumplings!!!

I am tickled.....haven't tried them that way.  My hubby likes dumplins rolled very thin and shaped in rectangles.  I told yall he is picky and spoiled!

Aw yeah!!!!  My grandmother did this with chicken.  Where I come from this would be turkey and dumplins.  Most folks call the flat things dumplins but I call 'em noodles!

I grew up on chicken and biscuits.  We made it a little differently though.  Mom would make the "stew" part then make the biscuits in the oven and pour the "stew" over the top.  SOOOO GOOD!  My boys love it!  Nice to pass on family favorites!  Oh, and the "stew" was really more of a chicken gravy.
