First time running 3-2-1 baby back ribs. Wife will be making a taco salad. Maybe some baked taters to go with the ribs.
Hello king.

Rub a lot of butter on your tators and salt them with coarse salt.  Wrap and put in the smoker with your ribs.  It takes them about 3-3/12 hrs.   They are better then any tator you've ever ate.

When mine are done I usually but them on the bottom rack to get a little char on the skins.   Simply awesome!

I also  wanted to do  a city vs city theme. I thought  SF  would be sour dough bread bowls  filled with  clam chowder along with some steamed Dungeness crab legs. For BAL it would be the Maryland style crab cakes( With old bay)  and BBQ oysters with some diced bacon. Also want to add the NO  style for the host city and have smoked chicken and sausage Jambalaya. I plan on doing a pig  as well to break in my new smoker. Just waiting to hear from butcher to see if he  can get a smaller one  for my cooker. Hope  to post some pics of that venture.

Got about 2 lbs. of chopped brisket left, so gonna make chopped brisket sloppy joe style sliders, and wings 2 ways sesame/teriaki and standard hot wing. Think I'm gonna smoke the wings for a few hours then finish them on hot Weber Kettle right before tossing them into the sauces.

Sadly, I am doing nothing for the game.  I gave my neighbor my old SFB when I received my new pellet pooper.  However, the misses won't let me build it until our backyard is complete.

I believe the saying is "It's easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is to ask for permission"?

Dude!  Man up!   :-)

Thats one phrase you'll never hear come out of my mouth.  "Wife won't let me"

If you build it they will come!!!!!

I know, I know, but we are having tough times right now so I am trying to pick my battles.  I rather battle her eating something other than hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill, than putting the new smoker up.

I have done, briskets, ribs, ABTs, Fatty's pulled pork, pork loin and a few other odds and ends and she won't touch any of it.  I was going to do the Christmas Ham on the smoker and she said that if I didn't do it in the over, she wasn't going to have any of it.

Again, I agree with you all, but trying to pick the battles.

Theres got to be a way to get her to try it.   She will love it!  My wife wasn't crazy about the idea when I first started.  She will at least try about everything I fix.  She wouldn't taste the oysters.  She doesn't like them to begin with.    If she ask for it again, I know she likes it.  She even helped me build my smoker.

Hang in there backyard!   She'll come around

When you get your smoker going  have some friends over for a smoke. Make your best dish and let her listen to everyone rave about how good it is.

I have a boat load of chex mix in the smoker now-I will be on the road this WE. so will be munching and listening to the game on XM.

Since it's just the BF and I going to be here (and I'm still recuperating from my bout of pneumonia), we're having Beer Battered Fried Cod, Shrimp and homemade fries and onion rings, some pork shots, Velveeta & Ro-tel Dip with homemade smoked sausage, maybe some ABTs and of course I gotta have spinach dip and pico de gallo. Who know what else!

I'm a smoking 8 butts for an early afternoon gathering and then for the SB I'm going to try pork candy and potato bombs. I'm still debating the ABTs...

Put some real crab meat in your Velveeta and Ro tel.   That what I put on my bacon shrimp cups.  I use the leftovers as dip.  Its awesome!

Nothing this year, we are invited to a friends so I'm in charge of the spinach dip. So jealous of all of you right now! They are having it catered I can just imagine....
