Hey Y'all,

I bought an eleven pound butt today.  Will smoke half tomorrow and the rest at a later time.  Question is, does anyone marinade their butt?  I have the rub, apple juice injection, swapping, and smoking down fine, but am considering a marinade for fun since I won't be smoking the butt till tomorrow.  Looking for ideas, experience stories and such.

We have used Mojo Crillio, usually the Badia or even Publix brand. I shy away from Goya as it is not as thick and rich it seems. Inject with sour orange and smoke. Very good.
 
Not sure if soaking the butt in a marinade was a good idea or not so I went for it.  Turned out to be one of the best butts I've done. I also used the mustard/honey glue found on the same site.  Wish I would have taken a pic of the finished product because the honey left a beautiful glaze.  It was as much fun to look at as it was to eat......almost.

I don't marinate overnight but brush with Worcestershire and soy before adding any rub
 
I don't marinate either....Just rub that puppy down...plop it into the smoker and let her rip.  You will find all kinds of ways to do the PP here.
