My perfect wife got me a Landmann 2 door smoker, and some cigars... so I tried it all out today.
I got a bone in center cut pork roast, and did a rub last nite similar to ones I found on here
I added bacon on top to keep it moist
I also got a chicken, did a quick brine and light rub
I put it in the smoker, lit a cigar, and puttered around the garage
While I waited for everything (and it took 6+ hours...) I built a sled to haul my ice fishing gear - it's called a "Smitty Sled" - learn all about ice fishing at iceshanty.com
Later I realized I had some garlic around, and somebody mentioned cooking garlic... so I put some in... pic later
So... eventually things got done... pork roast first
It could have used a bit more time, but was tender, juicy and we enjoyed it.
Then the chicken reached temp - haven't eaten it, but juices were clear, and it looked nice.
So, after a while, I pulled out the garlic... and just ate a couple of cloves. then wife pointed out it would be good on bread, so we both had some...
I like my smoker, really I do...
