I'm searching around to find a propane smoker to replace my old Char-Griller Duo.  It just doesn't do the job & way too labor intensive.  I look at Masterbuilt 2-door models, Landmann, Smoke Hollow, etc.  These things range greatly in price.  I really like the looks of the Masterbuilt.  It runs around $179 at Home Depot.  But in actuality, what is/are the major differences between propane smokers?  You need a box that seals pretty good, a burner, racks, water pan, drip pan, chip pan.  So where is the difference between a $179 smoker & a $400 smoker with the approx. same dimensions?

I have a master forge propane from lowes. It really works good and efficiently after some mods. With a maverick et732 and sand in my pan it is pretty easy to run. I also like the fact it has two doors so I'm not losing a ton of heat when I'm adding chunks. It's going on two years old and has held up great so far. Doesn't look like its built great but I haven't had any problems.
