I found some at my dad's house, fed them to some guys at work (told them the age) and the general opinion was that they were good but a bit vinigarry (thats a word right?). I have 4 jars(quart) left and he wants me to toss them, I think he is crazy what do you guys think?

If the Jar Tops are not Bulging, Rusty, Dented or otherwise damaged and open with a noticeable whoosh/pop, they should be fine to eat...JJ

Puddy, morning.....   Let me see if I understand your dilemma...  You have already used co-workers to test the peppers to see if they were safe to eat....

....  I would add a little sugar/salt at eating time to ease the vinegar zing.....  No point in throwing away good pickled peppers...

I would say you have a very good rapport with your co-workers.... they obviously trust you very much... and your dad knows what he is doing when it comes to pickling peppers...

DaveOmak and Cheff JJ are right on the money (as usual).

Still edible after 14 years!!!

Holy Smoke!  If the co-workers gave them a passing grade, USE 'EM!

My Granny used to can everything, and used it religiously.  Any bulging or rust she tossed out the product, and my Gran daddy lived to be 89 years young.

Good luck!

I agree with these opinions!!!
