Hi,

I am a total newbie to doing my own smoking but not to eating of course.  I just purchased a Masterbuilt LP gas smoker.  I have been wanting to buy a smoker for quite awhile now and finally bit the bullet.  Now I figure I have a little time while it's being shipped to get an idea of how to get started and I was lucky enough to find this forum.  I also have signed up for the e-course so hopefully by the time my new smoker arrives I will not be clueless...lol.  I am hear to learn and also to share my experiences at some point.  I live in central Massachusetts and I'm looking forward to diving into the world of smoking meats, fish and other foods.

Bon Appetit

Hello All,

So I got my smoker, got it put together and did my first smoking...  I did a turkey breast... brined it for about 24 hours, used Jeff's famous rub, apple chips, and some apple cider vinegar added to the water pan... it came out great... very moist and very tasty.  Everyone who tried it loved it!!!  I am so happy that my first one was such a success!

Congrats on your first success. Keep them coming and the qview too
