I am planning to buy a larger smoker maybe early next year, (tax refund...) so I've been lookin at Lang, and others, and I came across Heartland Rotisserie Cookers' website, and these are the rotisserie tray style cookers, which look like a wonderful idea to me. No hot spots, cold spots, or worrying about even temps end to end. They're not cheap, but right in there with other quality smokers of that size. Anyone know anything about them? Also, if I'm ok with spending upwards of $4000 or so, can you guys give me some other brands or ideas out there to consider? Something in the size range of a Lang 60 is what I'm looking at. And yes, I would love to get by for the least amount of $$ possible, but I want somethig really good, and reverse flow seems like a great design! I have done a little competing, and I may do more with more cooking space, and I'm interested in doing more cooking for larger groups etc., so a "warming box or tower" is a cool feature, and I'm thinking I want it trailer mounted.   Thank you all for your time!

I most likely will stick with a Lang, when I bump up it will be another Lang. My buddy started with a 48" then bumped to a 60D and now an 84D. Trying to save money, keep an eye out for used Langs on www.adhuntr.com

I like the conventional flow with tuning plate design. I like the flexibility it gives you with running the smoker at different temps from end to end. I like to make poultry along with whatever else I'm cooking and I like to cook poultry a little warmer than say ribs or butts.

I looked at Lone Starz smokers and they are very nice but I decided to go with a custom fabricator. A warming box is very nice but make sure it is dampered. Many manufacturers don't damper their warmer boxes so you are heating them whether you want to or not. This is the unit I went with. Warmer box id fully dampered. I can shut it off completely or run it within about 10 to 15 degrees of what the smoke chamber is running depending upon how much I open the dampers.
