Here is the Qview for my first Tritip and let me tell you that it was great! My wife didn’t care for it so much but she doesn’t like fatty type meats or any meat with fat on it for that matter but anyway back to the Qview.

I made it at the same time as my first Fattie.

Before the Rub Down.

After the Rub!

On the smoker with it's new pall the Fattie!

Almost done!

Taking a rest Temp right around 155-160 Nice and Medium!

Look at those juices run out of this thing!...if this doesn’t make your mouth water your not a Omnivore! 32.gif

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Great looking TriTip even if you did over cook it.  Us Ca guys cook to 130 -135 and let it rest for 20 min to get to 140. Glad you found one and don't you love the taste

Sure your therm is right?  The middle looks more like 140 to 145 to me?

Then again, the tri tip is great for a crowd.  More well done on the ends and less in the middle.  Everyone has their choice!

Also, note the grain before you rub.  The grain runs in different directions in this cut. Slice at about 1/4 inch, but always across the grain.

Those good juices on the cutting board go on my plate!

I bet you ate well!

Good luck and good smoking.

I am fortunate to have a friend who's dad is butcher and he got a few in to try and I was telling him about them from what I was reading on this site and he saved me one to try out as long as I gave him some feed back on what I thought about them....and yep....a keeper in my book!
