Hi all! I'm swamprb and I just found this site. It looks like there is something for everybody here so if its OK I think I'll hang around awhile! I started smoking salmon on a Little Chief about 13 years ago then I found a Large Japanese Kamado at a garage sale for $15, I used it mostly as a grill and had poor results smoking with it (no instructions) Then a couple years back I was looking into a WSM but on the advice of several co-workers I brought home a GOSMC 3600 and have had fantastic results with it. About the same time I attended a BBQ competition in Seattle and met Dr.BBQ cooking on a BGE and I told him of my Kamado and he gave me a few tips and it all started clicking from there, I refurbished my Kamado, added a spring hinge and draft door from BGE and built a table for it and never looked back! Ive refurbished 2 other Kamado's since then. In July I acquired a used Large Big Green Egg and have been playing with it. I will be keeping my eye out for a WSM and an offset smoker in the future to add to the arsenal! I'm mostly a troller, but do ask for advice If I can't figure it out myself. Thanks!
