Marveled in Minnesota

  1. The knowledge and friendly vibe drew me in to this site. Thank you for adding me. I jumped into smoking in a big way when my son requested bbq ribs for his grad party two years ago. On a borrowed custom built beast we smoked 400 lbs of ribs and 70 lbs of butts. After rave reviews, the hub and a friend who built the beast gathered parts and pieces for our custom cooker. An old boat trailer and a 500 gallon propane tank were turned into our new toy. Once our MN snowdrifts melt, I will add photos. So looking forward to getting it out of the shed...a sure sign of spring! I look forward to great advice from this group as I venture into making bacon and other new challenges. My three favorite things are great coffee, good wine, and quality Q!

Welcome to the Smoking  forum.   You’ll find great , friendly people here, all more than willing to answer any question you may have.  Just ask and you’ll get about 10 different answers—all right.  LOL.   Don’t forget to post qviews.

  6. Welcome from Maryland. I hope your thaw is before May. Smoking shouldn't have to wait. My father in-law is from Walnut Grove Minnesota.
  7. Snow melting fast but more on the way nay time tonight. While we wait, I'm trying my hand at bacon. Have 15 lbs of belly in Pops brine and my Amazing cold smoke device has arrived.
