Hello from the new guy

Thanks for allowing me to join, my name is Dan and I live in upstate NY, USA.  I just started smoking in summer of 2014.  I started with a vertical box smoker, this past December I acquired a Dyna Glo smoker with an off set fire box. I’ve been grilling for years but I enjoy smoking so much more.  I love spending the day smoking something I find it oddly relaxing.

Welcome from SC, Dan. This is a great site with lots of really good folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. It sounds like you have a really good start on this smoking thing. I never thought about it, but it is oddly relaxing. My dad would make me watch a burning brush fire all day and it was soooooo boring. Now, I will sit and watch my FB, smoke, temp or anything for hours and it may be odd, but it sure is relaxing.
