Another Newb, up on smoke

Hi All,
I'm Tom and I'm a smoker....or at least, I'm hoping with all y'all's help to become a smoker. I enjoy cooking and grilling, have always loved smoked food and BBQ, and for Fathers Day my wife got me a little smoker to try to learn on; a Masterbuilt 30" electric. I've been poking around here for a week or so while doing pre-purchase research. Looks like a friendly and knowledgable place.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hi Tom, welcome! As a fellow noob all I can say is if you don't know something this is the place to find the answer, all the posts are helpful and encouraging, and there is usually always someone on if you need help with something right away (good example is its 1:15 am here in ontario and I am trolling the rollcall because I am awake and have nothing better to do). cheers - looking forward to some good q-views :welcome1:
