I have been looking at buying a used traeger recently and came across someone selling a Traeger 124 for $350. I'm a little hesitant that it's 10+ years old, though the owner says they haven't used it in 5 years.

Anyone have any thoughts? Assuming I check it out and everything looks ok, is this a good deal?

Anything specific I should be looking for when I go take a look at it?

Thanks!

Well, considering new Traegers are up there price wise, YMMV. Check the obvious; holes, rust spots. If it has been sitting for that long, the chute may be rusted. The pellet cup would probably be toast but check it anyway. Get him to fire it up and then start at $150 and go from there lol.

Yup. If it was me I'd say no way. But if that's something you want, I'd put him to the test and low-ball him for sure. I bet with that description and price tag, he's not exactly going to have buyers lined up so use that to your advantage.
