Hello Everyone!
I an new to the site trying to gain some knowledge on my first RF square tank build. I am still in the designing phase and have some rookie questions I am hoping you all can help me with.

OK so hopefully the pictures upload and you can see what I am starting with. I was given this stainless steel tank with dimensions of 66"L x 24"W x 18"D.
Now on to the questions before I can start crunching numbers on FB size and so forth:

I am going to have a good buddy fabricate the top for this out of 1/8" stainless sheeting. I only intend to do cut pieces of meat on this smoker. I will not need room for a half or whole hog.

1- How much headspace is adequate from grate to top of lid?
2- How low or high should the firebox be mounted to the Cooking Chamber?
3- Spacing between RF plate and cooking grate?

I understand everything is custom but just trying to get a general good rule of thumb on all this first. Thanks and this is the style lid I am imagining for now.
