Hi all my Name is Steve Williams. I live in Grand Haven, Michigan with Kay, my wife of 10 years. We recently have decided to get into smoking meat after a friend brought over some smoked salmon and smoked turkey. Never in my life have I had meat as good as that. Now I'm determined to duplicate the meat my friend brought over. I haven't decided how much time I can invest in to smoking as I usually work 60-70 hour weeks. I was thinking of getting an Electric Smoker that can do a full sized turkey, ham, jerky or some freshly caught salmon fillets. I don't intend on spending more than $300 for the smoker. I guess I would like something that I can use that requires less attention but one that can smoke with wood chips or wood. I have been read up on some of the post here and see that an electric smoker requires the least amount of attention but you don't get the same quality meat as you would with a charcoal or wood burner. If anyone has any tips or recommendations I would love to hear from ya. Thanks!
