I only say planting day because yesterday when making this, we were supposed to get stuff planted. What ended up happening is the spectrum guy came over and we never did. But the roast beef turned out.. tonight I'm using some for cheese steaks.

This was made with rump roast they had on sale at Piggly Wiggly near me..Angus they claim. At 2.69 a pound it was a good buy either way and I ended up with a total of 7 pounds of roast beef to be used in various ways.

The beef on the bottom was from smaller roasts, and thus a bit more done. I'm honestly not sure what the top stuff got to over all. Some read 137f, some said 133f, it sure tastes good though! I used SPOG and italian seasonings on it.

What is every one's favourite way to have roast beef? I know on a nice bun with some horse radish mayo is a good way, and repurposed to cheese steaks or hash.. but I'm looking for a different spin, I got 7 pounds to play with!

Total disappointment. I was expecting a roast beef tree.

Seriously, I'm with Vol on this one. Hot open faced RB sammie with plenty of gravy. If you still have some leftover in a few days then a good hash is definitely in order.

Point for sure
Chris

I love a shaved beef sandwich with melted cheddar....

I actually have a white cheddar with cranberry and chipotle I wanted to try with this... figure with the horseradish mayo it'll blow my head off but.. LOL

Alright I'll WORK on a roast beef tree ;)

I'm actually freezing the bulk of this..well I hope to so I'm going to mark the fattier stuff for hash. Since then it provides it's own oil for frying up the onion and taters!

As for pasta salad I made popcorn salad tonight, given there was no left overs, I'd say the family liked that! <Then again it had bacon in it..!>

I'll need to make me some gravy tommorrow though..maybe just make a nice loaf of dark stout bread to make that open face sammie with..

Roast beef Manhattan (maybe it's a regional thing).
