Greetings. brand new and know nothing about smokers.

I have not stopped to take time for stuff like this for years. Always going and not enough time. Now I have nothing but time on my hands. I used to love to fish but until the last four months, i had not fished in years. Trout season was really a fun way to start back and now i have a lot of trout in my freezer.

A friend of mine gave me some trout that he had smoked in a smoker he picked up at a yard sale for $2. I really liked it but it was a bit too salty for me and my wife.

Long story short, I stumbled over a new charcoal smoker on the back patio that my wife bought several years ago. I have to put it together and learn how to use it.It is a Masterbuilt Deluxe Charcoal Smoker and Grill, Triple Crown.

I want to start out learning how to smoke the trout and that is how i found this website.

Looking around online I see that some folks use brine when smoking fish and others do not.

Does anyone know anything about this smoker/grill and i would really appreciate tips for smoking my first fish or anything for that matter.
