Hi Folks,

Wondering if you can help me out with a few questions.  I just bought my first smoker, Masterbuilt 30 model 20070411.  After doing some research and looking over some of the threads in this forum, it seems as though I need 3 accessories to complete the set-up...a Maverick ET-732 remote smoker thermometer, AMNP smoker, and a Propane Torch.

(1)  What are the advantages to using the AMNP Smoker?

(2)  Will the AMNP smoker tray fit inside my MES model?

(3)  Can I use any pellets for the AMNP smoker?

(4)  Is the digital remote on the MES so far off that I need the Maverick 732 thermometer?

Being a novice, I want to make things as simple as possible.  I'm hosting a 30 person BBQ in 2 weeks and want to be ready.

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi ES

I have this same smoker. Here are my answers to your questions.

1. The advantage is you can produce smoke at a lower temp than you can using the MES to produce the smoke. Also a big advantage is you can do long smokes and not have to keep adding chips every 30-45 min.

2. Yes, it will fit in you MES on the bottom rails of your unit.

3. I believe all pellets will work, but Todd has a great selection. Especially the Pitmaster blend he has.

4. The MES digital remote doesn't have the range as the Maverick 732. I use the Maverick 732 and find it has better range, and is more accurate than the MES.

It will be money well spent to purchase these two items for your MES. Give Todd a call, and he will set you up. He is a great guy and will give you fast service. Click on his A-Maze-N-Smoker link and you can get his phone number on there.

Happy Smokin!!

ES, morning....  Tim has you covered..... good info....  Todd's pellets are "pure one source pellets"...  He also has a "Pitmaster's Choice" blend that is awesome.... It is a mild, flavorful blend that will be enjoyed by all... I recommend this blend that will make your guests happy....  some smoking woods are "taste" acquired flavors... not everyone likes them.... PC will solve those problems....

The amazing pellet smoke generator is a match made in heaven for the MES 30..... You will be happy..... Here is a link to his website...
