i've smoked at temp's of 37 degrees maybe lower a bit but i also had to keep an eye on it,that was also when i decided to put a thermometer on my fire box so i could tell if i was going to need coal's to keep my smoke chamber where it needed to be,it works on the char griller for me.

rarely gets below freeze here-so i would say I might start at 40 and in 2 hrs. it's 60-70,on a good day.bad day is 50.

I have had my CharGriller going when it was 30 out and snowing. Wife told me I was nuts for doing it. It was harder to keep the chamber hot enough and used alot more charcoal but it was a short smoke as I did pork tenderloins.

Not sure what the temp will be but I will be smoking some rips and brisket for Super Bowl Sunday poker party here in Denver. This morning its in the low teens should be a LOT of fun

I have fired up the chargriller well below freezing if there is no wind. No wind in Kansas? Good luck...
Anyway I prefer cookin when its cold cause i can build a bigger fire. It just seems easier to hold temps steady. In the heat of the summer Im always trying to keep temps down low and sometimes almost lose my fire trying to do so.
Today, 50 degrees with light wind from the north. Perfect. Gonna be a great cook Im sure.

It's 20 degrees with wind chill of 9 out here now in Iowa. Got 2 chunks in the smoker now. Seems to be coming along a lot quicker than I thought.
