First time whole chicken

ive smoked whole turkeys before, and I have done chicken parts and pieces, but I’ve never done whole chickens so I thought id give it a try.

I threw them in some apple juice/water brine this morning, seasoned them with some homemade chicken rub (mixed with mayo for the sticky factor.

I had one ‘can’ chicken holder so I used that for one with some Dr Pepper in it. The other went straight in the grill with it’s but stuffed with cut oranges.

And I threw some potatoes and peppers in there too.

To be clear the potatoes were not in the chickens butt. They were thrown in the smoker. Hha
 
Thanks 5grillz. I’m pretty hungry, but still have at least another 1.5 hours before they are done
 
I’m pretty happy with it.

First 2 hours at about 240, then I bumped up to about 350 to finish it up and crisp the skin
