Ok guys and gals. I had this crazy idea.
It is early November and we have a little less than two months before the end of the year.
What would you think about creating the First Annual SMF Calendar? There would be room for 12 monthly photos, maybe even sandwich in an extra photo page between each month, to give coverage to say, 24 individuals. There are so many good cooks and so many innovative smokers represented here, we would want to cover as many as possible.
We could ask for a couple volunteers who have the time and the interest to coordinate everything, so there were not “too many cooks in the kitchenâ€, so to speak.
We could all submit smoking related photos. Say, of our rigs, of us with our rigs, Q-Views, functions we attended or performed at etc.
We could select a photo holding web site, like “Photobucket†or any of the many such places, where we could collect, display and eventually vote on entries. These services usually have a simple way to create merchandise so should be easy to create the actual Calendar, after the winning entries had been identified.
We would need to have a way to take a vote and tally the winners. But that would be pretty easy.
Would also need to compute costs and charge for the actual Calendars. If Jeff was willing, we might be able to sell and distribute through his current web mechanism. We could mark the actual cost up a buck or two and let the proceeds go to support of the SMF site.
I think it sounds like fun.
This is a very loosely thought out idea. I havenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t spent any real time working out the details, just the concept. I will leave the details to all of you.
I am sure there will be plenty of “Pros†and plenty of “Consâ€, so everyone take a turn at voicing your ideas and opinions, and letâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s see if there is any interest.
