    Is cold rolled steel sheet safe to use as a heat deflector?

    https://www.rona.ca/en/product/precision-solid-sheet-metal-22-gauge-cold-rolled-steel-12-in-w-x-24-in-l-11775-63865522 This appears to be non galvanized So wondering if its safe to use in a grill/smoker? & how long should i heat it over coals to get rid of toxins?
