A-Maze-N vs ProQ Cold Smoke Generators

All:    Has anyone tried cold smoking bourbon or other liquors?    Any luck or pointers you can post?    I had a smoked bourbon Old Fashioned recently where the bartender used a smoke gun and it was fantastic.   I was thinking of adding smoke to a bottle of Maker's, but would love to hear from...

black goo inside of the pit

Thank you for the input.   I'm starting to think I am creating too much smoke.  I normally fill up the wood pan with a combination of chunks and chips & rarely end up with the bucolic light blue smoke......I end up with billows of white smoke.   Will cut back a bit and try it that way.    Many...

    chunks vs chips

I've exclusively used wood chips, never chunks. My Landmann 38 Great Smokey Mountain is working great with chips, but can anyone weigh in on the wisdom of using chunks of cherry or hickory or other woods ? I would seem to me (newbie) that the chunks might be more long lasting and...

    length of smoke for brisket

Much obliged.   How much luck have you had freezing a portion after the smoke, if it's too much for our small crowd?

    length of smoke for brisket

May sound dumb, but here goes.   If I have a 12 lb brisket and therefore looking at 14 hrs or more to smoke, what if I cut it in half and smoke 2 pieces on separate grates?  Does that cut down the required time ?
