    Thanks, you guys nailed it. The back of the limit switch was pretty much disintegrated. Amazing it was working at all. Testing it now with wires shorted together. Edit: Set temp to 275 degrees. Only took a few minutes to hit it, so it looks like I'm back in actin. Question...what sort of spade...

    Just checked it. An hour or so later, the temp is hovering around 234 degrees. (Set point is 250.) Go figure.
