Firebox built, and I havent seen anyone else do this, but i ripped out the thermometer from my old small charbroil and installed it at the bottom rack level. Might not matter but, thought it might be nice to know the difference in temps from top to bottom.

Thats a GREAT idea. Thanks for your input guys, really helpfull. I guess i just have to decide on the Briniman vertical or the WSM. Does anyone know of a store that would have either of these in stock and maybe even diplayed? Might help make my decision easier.
Thanks guys, what kind of mods for the char broil? And is it pretty good quality? I like the WSM as well, but i do like to do ribs. So not sure its right for me.
