    Vision Grill at High Altitude

Hi Andy, I'll have to keep your pizza stone alternative in mind when I do pizza on the Vision. I would love to visit the Reno area and I'll bet you are spot on with the altitude causing the difficulties with the grill. Hopefully some other high altitude Vision owners will chime in and give you...

    BGE or Vision Grills Kamado???

I'm enjoying my Vision B series that I purchased at Sams. For 499, you can't beat it. It comes with a nice base. Some people have complained that the holes in the base don't line up when they are assembling the grill. I had no problems at all. Guess I was lucky! I ordered the lava stone from...

    Vision Grill at High Altitude

Are you using the lava stone that sets below the top of the fire box on the x-bracket? If so, try using a pizza stone directly on the rack. Let the charcoal burn longer before closing the grill. Keep both top and bottom vents open and good luck. Mine works great here in NC foothills. I'm...

Hi oldhawk,   I used some hickory and pecan. A few times the smoke got too thick. I believe that some of the hickory might not have been cured enough. Hickory can be strong. I need to get some good oak. I'm on the lookout. I've got the smoke fever now!!!

    First yardbird on the Wrangler

Hey mlm74, I had a difficult time getting thin blue smoke all of the time. The ribs were really good but too smokey. They turned out the best. I should have wrapped everything a little earlier. Perhaps the hickory wood was not cured enough. I'm hooked though, I can tell you that for sure...

Ribs were nice and caramelized, flavor was too smoky. I didn't wrap soon enough.  Small brisket in the foreground.  Backyard setup. I used some pecan, oak and hickory. I'm still learning!

HI JohnnyRockford, It's been a crazy last couple of weeks. I'm firing her up tomorrow. I added tuning plates and I bought and rubbed a small pork ham shank. I usually buy boston butts. I bought a small rack of back ribs and rubbed them, and get this: I bought a 2 lb piece of beef brisket. All...

I bought a rack of back ribs, removed the membrane and add my rub. I've wrapped them up and tomorrow after church, I'm...

    First yardbird on the Wrangler

I started a fire tonight on the Wrangler and it's gonna be great. I burned off the oils present from manufacturing and look forward to using it. I'm going to reinstall the temp gauge so that the probe is closer to the grate. I'll be using the Maverick dual probe as well. This is going to be...

    First yardbird on the Wrangler

Hey mlm74, I brought home the wrangler tonight. That was a heavy sucker!  Gonna work on getting the thing seasoned Sunday after our mountain trip. Gonna also have the tuning plates made and will install the OCP temp gauge so that the probe is closer to the cooking grate. Wow! Last week I had...
