okay so the board is also bad I can have the unit plugged in and not even hit the power button and the auger motor just feeds and feeds and feeds so tech support said its a board issue and its backordered so when they get them in mine will be on my way too bad ill be back out in the oil...
so I have the Austin XL ive smoked 2 briskets on it and they turned out awesome.. well the auger motor went out and they sent a replacement motor. used it once worked fine now the thing will not stop feeding pellets had a small fire in the thing... any idea what this could be?? tomorrow...
So i bought a Oklahoma joe highland smoker..it says it can be used with charcoal also.. i know it needs to be seasoned in. Is it okay to use charcoal to do this. Should i buy cheap stuff just to waste. Along with some cheap olive oil?? Ill upload photos when i get home

first I was looking into an electric smoker then a stick burner and now the smokey mountain charcoal one..
I am a beginner at this stuff I have a gas grill but I am a fan of smoked ribs brisket...
so is this an easy task ? I want to try some kind of mustard rub I guess its called a wet rub
