    Brisket thoughts

It's hard when they're frozen in my opinion, but I struggle with them... I'm doing one tonight myself, but it's fridge temp.

Exactly... PID is definitely better in my experience, but to each their own.

    Opinions on Pellet grills

Absolutely not... My RecTec's both put out tons of smoke and have perfect temperature control. I can't imagine ever going non-pid.

Camp Chef Woodwind SG or Rec Tec RT700 Bull?

I can't comment on the Camp Chef, but I know I did not like their griddle compared to Blackstone from a quality perspective. The RecTec is great, and has tons of smoke and absolutely perfect temperature control.

    Brisket - What went wrong?

He stated it weighed 4.5 lbs, which does not sound like a whole brisket, more like a flat.

Rec Tec RT-700 Bull. Large temp fluctuations

Opening the lid will prevent the PID controller from adapting and you should not do so on a pellet grill in an overrun... ESPECIALLY the first time running it for a cook.

Rec Tec RT-700 Bull. Large temp fluctuations

The PID controller has to learn, you have to let it run.

    Rectec vs Grilla vs Yoder

I've had two rec tecs, and both are absolutely flawless. LOVE the wifi connections on my new one, which means I don't need my fireboard any more. Temp never varies more than 10 degrees EVER even over long Brisket cooks... Drip pan can't drain backwards if installed correctly (and you really...

    Rec Tec or Woodwind?

I would really recommend RecTec if you're interested most in smoking.
