My "go to" for all things sausage is Stanley Marianski's book Home Production of Quality Meats and Sausages.
Recently made my best ever Kielbasa, sweet and hot sausages.
And almost any other processed meat you may find.
The last couple smokes I've used Kingsford briquettes and haven't had the dust problem.
Maybe the Masterbuilt chunks were the problem.
Thanks all for your inputs.
Thanks, Smokin Okie.
JLinza, I've always put a couple a couple chunks of wood in the ash bucket since it's supposed to add some extra smoke.
I've never noticed any difference and the chunks seldom burn up.
Getting some briquettes today and will use them on my ham and see what happens and vacuum...
Last couple cooks I've been getting a lot of ashes blowing in on the food I'm cooking.
I've been using Masterbuilt lump charcoal for this and don't know if that's the problem.
I mostly use Kingsford briquettes and don't recall this problem.
But the cook, season is young and I'm getting senile...
I was never able to get a response or reply from MB for warranty service on my 560.
I bought all my own parts from Amazon and figured it out, eventually.
Problem solved.
Power cord.
I guess I'm going to keep an inventory of spare parts.
Thanks for everyone for your patience putting up with me.
BTW, Masterbuilt warranty did not pay for anything.
I did.
Love the smoker.
Support sucks
I'm not smart about this stuff, Keith, but that makes the most sense for why it won't power on.
At least I'll have plenty of spare parts when I do figure it out
I just ordered a bunch of components but not wires.
I'll do that now.
Thanks.
I did order a new power cord, a new temp sensor, door switches and a fan.
I did start tearing it apart a little bit ago and the temp sensor has the end burned off.
Not sure if that's why it won't power on, though
I apologize for ranting and crying all over this forum.
I got a new controller today that I paid for (Took 12 days)
Unfortunately, that didn't help and won't turn on.
They have a support PDF that tells me what to check but not how.
At least in a simple enough way I understand.
Surprisingly...
Still haven't gotten a response from support or had my paid order for a new controller shipped.
Original support ticket on 7/2.
Found a phone number online but it's just a message.
They claim a live chat option but I can't find it.
On Facebook, someone forwarded my support request but that...
I bought from MB because they said something about voiding warranty if you didn't buy from the right person.
Of course, not sure why I need to worry about warranty.
Don't seem to be able to use it
