Masterbuilt 30" single door propane mod

Have you tried the burning cranked all the way up to see if the smoke would be consumed by the full-on burner? I want to do this mod myself as well but was wondering how it acts when that burner is full throttle. -Alli Sent from my iPhone

    Bricks in the smoker

Mine is a Masterbuilt 2 door gasser. I think I need to do the caster mod at some point. I was thinking of just closing off that bottom area under the legs and just leaving enough room for air to go in. You know that perforated metal that the Amazing Smoker thing uses? Use that and some sheet...

    gasser mod for AMNPS......

Yeah, I would also like to know how this mod is holding up over time and if everything is still working perfectly.  I'm thinking about doing this mod myself.  Looks like a great idea.  I'm having wind issues so I might attempt correcting that at the same time I build/mod this. Thanks!  :-)

    Bricks in the smoker

Hi there..  Thanks for the reply.   I live in a windy area so the wind is always blowing.  It has a tendency for the temp to swing up and down based on the wind.  Hoping to help stabilize that out a bit with the bricks.  I need to try some stuff to shield the flame on the burner from the wind...

    Bricks in the smoker

Hi there.. I was wondering if any bricks would be ok for use in the smoker to help stabilize heat. I thought about cement the plain gray cement bricks but there are chemicals in there and didn't want that. I was thinking the standard old red clay bricks would be best. Any comments from anyone...

Small problem with Mastebuilt Pro 30"

I set my cast iron pan up about 4" off the burner. Plenty of heat for the chips. So much so that they still end up burning and not smoking. I had to put them in a pouch inside the pan. I was running hot though at 350. Try raising it up a bit.. Also, I had wind problems and the flame would get...

Thanks for the warm welcome! :-) ill update my location later today once I get to work. My first smoke came out very well so I'm actually thinking about starting a sort of blog on these forums so that others can benefit from what I have done and will do in the future. Is there a proper space...

New to Smoking, First Post (Masterbuilt Gas)

Hi all -- I have recently bought a Masterbuilt 30" 2 door vertical gas smoker.  I had a very successful first smoke, but I'm quickly learning that there are a lot of mods that I need to make to this unit so that it operates how I want it to.  I live in a very windy area and today I fought the...
