Yoder 640 vs Blazin' Grills Grid Iron - Help Please.

I have seen the owner of Yoder smokers answer several Question about the Yoders on the yoder ys pellet grills facebook page.  He takes pride in his products.  I have had my 640 now for I think 3 years...losing track...but i really love it...cooks great and I have had no problems with it.  I use...

    Yoder Pellet smoker

I have had my 640 for 2 years now and have had zero problems with it. I did the fan upgrade last year and it helped the pellet consumption, but mine was built before this feature was standard.  I think you would be happy with it for a long time.

    Uneven Yoder

It is working fine...just have faith and let it do it's thang....I stopped foiling my deflector as well and it does seem to run better.  I do not event put a temp gage inside the cooker any more.  My 640 has not let me down yet.  It is just hard to let go of the reigns.

    Yoder Smokers

Yes you can, I start my ribs for the first hour at 190, the lower temp allows the 640 to make more smoke.

Stick burnin' Newbie looking for help! PLEASE

I had that same smoker for years and had problems with ash build up under the fire grate.  If you do not raise it up the ashes must be kept raked out from under the fire on long cooks.

    BBQ Contest (TOO Exspensive?)

My question is> Have BBQ contests gotten too expensive for common guy to compete in?  When I started in KCBS venues i was paying about 100 buck to enter...a expensive one was 150.  Today a cheap one is 150 bucks and most are 200 plus.  With the cost of meat and everything else it has really put...

    Bad Expensive brisket

Not only is meat prices going through the roof but the quality is going through the floor.  I have been cooking in contests for 14 years and have never had a worse brisket than a few weeks back.  Paid 100 bucks for this Prime hunk of tire scrap.  It was the worse brisket i have ever had...the...

    Rec Tec vs Yoder YS480

I have the 640 and have had very good luck with it and no problems.  I have no experience with the rec tec.  But I did like the Yoder being made here in the USA and it is built heavy.  I like the idea of keeping money at home in American hands.

    Yoder losing smoke around door

Did you contact yoder?  Maybe it is warped or something weird happend in production.  My 640 does not leak, but I do not have the thermal blanket.  Maybe something on it is keeping lid open.  I do not think it should need to add a seal if it was made right.  Just my thoughts. weird
