    Hickory in Orlando area?

Thanks for the tips guys - didn't think about using oak for the heat and just chunks for flavor, like the idea a lot.  I ended up getting the Klose 20x42 instead of the Lang, so looking forward to firing it up this weekend!  Thanks again all.

    Just got a Klose 20x42!!

Well after a long day of work today, things are looking much better! Found some penetrating rust dissolver at Home Depot - not the brands suggested above, but similar.  After multiple applications over the course of the day, the hinges are working very well and the lid is staying closed...

    Just got a Klose 20x42!!

Thanks Dave that helps - will give that a try. Here are some photos of the rig (still on the trailer, not looking forward to getting this down) :)  As you can see the rust is really not bad at all on the outside, some sanding should take care of it.  The inside is in a little worse shape, as...

    Just got a Klose 20x42!!

So I have been looking for an offset smoker to give my Egg some company.... Yesterday on Craigslist a guy posted a ~5 year old used 20x42 Klose smoker for $450, with ball valve and charcoal basket upgrades. I jumped all over it and drove 2 hours to get it, UHaul trailer and all.  Looking at it...

    Hickory in Orlando area?

Does anyone know of a good supplier of hickory for an offset smoker in the central Florida Orlando area? Just got an almost new Lang 36 off Craigslist, picking it up Friday!!  Need to stock up on the split logs now.

    New member in Orlando!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! P.S.  Just to get stomachs growling, here's a snap of some BGE ribs from the weekend.    This is why I'm looking for something a little bigger - want to lay out about 10 of these!

    New member in Orlando!

Hi everyone - just joined the forums today, looking forward to being part of the group and sharing info with all the experts here!  This site has been invaluable to me over the years researching cookers, drooling over BBQ pics, etc.  A little about me - I'm from Orlando, FL (Oviedo actually)...

Looking for a Lang 48 (or similar) in Florida

Brand new to the forums (Hello everyone!).  I am a long-time BBQer, most experience is on a WSM and recently a large BGE. I am looking to move to a stick burner for more capacity and more fun, and keep the BGE for smaller cooks/direct grilling. Looking for a used Lang 48 for sale anywhere in...
