    MES Window Cleaning Solution

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works really well. I just wet it and go over the window with it, then I squeeze it out and go over the window again. Everything comes right off and I can use the eraser over and over again. Best three bucks I've ever spent on a cleaning product! I use a steel brush on...

    MES Window Cleaning Made Easy

I remembered reading about this a while ago. I found it fascinating, but haven't done any experimenting.  Anyway, hope this helps: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/69196/discussion-how-to-produce-smoke-ring-in-electric-smokers CP

Soaking wood is a NO NO

When I first bought my MES I followed the directions in the manual, and soaked the chips.  I never got great flavor from anything...it was just flat.  In fact, that's what led me to the forum.  I was trying to find out why.  Someone suggested not smoking the wood chips, and I tried it.  Wow! ...

    Masterbuilt smoker vent position?

Hi All, Just wondering since you mentioned the Thermapen...I love mine too...what temperature did the roast get to before you removed it from the smoker after 4 hours?  I found such great prices on prime rib roasts after Christmas that I bought one, but have never cooked one before.  I also...

Anyone use wood pellets in their MES?

I agree 100%.  I use the AMNPS in my MES 30, usually filled with dust or dust and pellets.  I rarely use pellets alone.  But depending on what I am smoking and which wood I want to use, I may just go for the chips in the tray.  Last Saturday I smoked a corned beef brisket into a (delicious)...

Oh yes you CAN fit 4 turkeys in a MES 40!!! (with Q-view)

Sooooooo, anyone out there know anyone out there in the Portland, Oregon area in need of an MES30?  Mine is suddenly not taking up enough space...Comes with the Masterbuilt dust cover???  My guy won't stand a fifth smoker in the garage, apparently.  I'm not giving up my A-Maze-N though...

Oh yes you CAN fit 4 turkeys in a MES 40!!! (with Q-view)

I love this comment!  Large Cajones...It's so true!  I've had my MES 30 for a few months now, and would have been a little apprehehensive about doing one bird when I first got it.  Of course now I have the A-maze-N pellet model so I'm full of confidence that I can get the flavor I want.  I do...

    Masterbuilt smoker vent position?

Well I got a small raise, effective next week so I went ahead and ordered the A-Maze-N pellet smoker, along with extra dust and pellets.  I hope this gives me the consistency I'm looking for.  I like fiddlin' if I have time, but I wanna try a brisket in the MES, and I imagine I'll be glad to be...

    Masterbuilt smoker vent position?

That's a new one to me. I'll try that. Does it work best with chicken, or would you try that with anything else? Btw, I smoked some pork sirloin chops and they came out perfectly. I took your advice and fed the chip loader fewer chips, but a bit more often, every half hour or so when I noticed...

    Masterbuilt smoker vent position?

Hi all, I'm not a novice to smoking meat, by this is my first MES, and so after reading this thread I'm a bit confused. Having never before had a window on my smoker, I think I may be overthinking things. When I use the smoker with the vent all the way closed, and with well soaked mesquite chips...
