I have an analog 30inch smoke house smoker it is double walled (no insulation) and yes I am newbie but I do have some input take it or leave it.
1 this model has a 1500w element which I feel makes up for the lack of insulation and it has good recovery time
2 not sure what the max temp on it is...
I have an 30 inch analog with legs and a 1500w element.so far so good. The only PITA is you have to open it up to add chips but it seems to recover pretty quickly.
well I do not think I will need it.this thing gets plenty hot it was the thermometer in the door that was way off I put the ready check 72 on it and it was getting plenty warm
Just smoked my fist batch of polish sausage.it was a package kinda thing from the people that make big chief smokers .So I got a boston but ground it up and stuffed them.all was well they looked great.smoked them to temp of 158 then put them in an Ice bath for a few.they looked and tasted great...
I have a 30 inch mes it is the analog style but the with the temp Gage in the door was off 25 degrees.and me being a newbie it was really messing with my head.
I wonder if this would help in colder outside temps http://www.smokehouseproducts.com/prod_lure_select.cfm?Stock=9999&CategoryID=14&ProductNo=9999-940-0000
I was just wondering because I see some folks upgrading 2 a 1200 watt element.I really do not think mine will get up to 275f.and would be a lot more sensitive to outside temps.I have used it only a few times.
Well just got a new MES from qvc it is one of the 1500w with legs.what is it missing insulation? and will it have the wiring issues the other ones are having.I'm an ol school guy so i'm ok with the analog and no window.
thanks Russ
