    Question for Yoder owners

My 640 has also always leaked a little smoke around the lid.  Never seemed to affect the way my Q comes out though.  I don't worry about it. Joe

Is a Yoder worth the wait?

Is a Yoder worth the wait?

Ok, understand now, kinda.  If I were going to wait that long, I think I would go for the Big Boy then.  YS 640 with the rest of the bells and whistles.  Don't think you would be sorry at all. Joe

Is a Yoder worth the wait?

2 months to get a Yoder, something doesn't sound right about that.  While it has been 4 years since I bought mine, then I called the company on Monday Morning and on Friday it was delivered, Saturday I was using it.  However to answer your question, YES the Yoder is worth the wait.  A far...

Traeger Century worth $500 other options?

While that sounds like a good price, assuming it has the digital controller.  In my opinion any price other than FREE is to much for a treager.  And yes I've owned 2 of them in the past. JUNK, just my .02

    Pellet smoker/Grill?

Another vote for the Yoder.  I've had a YS 640 for 3 years now and it does it all.  Just need to get the Grill Grates with it for Searing Steaks.

    Question about pellet smokers.... planning...

Don't own a Rectec, but I do have a Yoder YS 640.  Only me in the house and I have no problem firing it up to cook a steak, some chicken, or whatever for dinner.  I recently added Grill Grates to it and now use it even more for those single serving cooks.

    True Peameal Bacon?

Well I just had a Breakfast of Peameal Bacon and Eggs.  Wasn't Cowgirl's recipe, but believe me there will be a whole lot more of this stuff in my future, and I will try Cowgirl's recipe next time.  The recipe I used just called for rolling the Cured Loin in the Peameal and letting it set for 24...

    True Peameal Bacon?

Thanks, found it and will have to give it a try.  Her recipe is vastly different from the one I'm currently testing.  Will be fun to see which one taste's best. Joe

    True Peameal Bacon?

Thanks everyone, I would like the link to Cowgirls Recipe.  And yes I do realize that things she posted are her property, hence my post asking Cowgirl for the recipe. That said I am currently trying another recipe I got from the web. Joe

    True Peameal Bacon?

Cowgirl if your still around I would sure like to have that recipe.  I'm trying one I got off the internet today, but won't know anything for a week or so on how it turns out. Joe

Thanks, I'll have to give these units a close look.  Seems one of them just might fit the bill for when I'm away from home and want some good smoked whatever.

Thanks c2h2s4,  the more information I can get the better.  So far everything I've heard is pretty positive about these grills.  Scalpel, Question for you.  Have you tried running your unit off a 12 volt battery?  If so, how did it perform.  I like to be in places there is no electricity, so...

Thanks Scalpel,  sounds like it might make a good unit for me when I'm traveling.  I'll do some serious checking in the next couple of weeks before final decision time. Joe

Thanks Wolfman, I went to the website and saw that they have Sportsmans Warehouse as a dealer.  However Sportsmans Warehouse does not list them on their website.  Hence my question.  Hoping an Oregon Member might have actual knowledge about a dealer there. Joe
