    Good choice! My 3rd (?) smoker was a MB40 1st generation, and I smoked a TON of good stuff on it! It is super easy to use!  I have since upgraded to a Yoder YS480, and love that even more!  In both units, I have always supplemented the smoke flavor with a AMTS. For me, it adds another "tweak"...

    After 2 hours in foil, I would unwrap and put meat side up for 45-60 minutes to firm the meat back up a little.

    In my old MES40, my AMNTS provided the perfect amount of supplemental smoke. I have upgraded to the YS480, and now I can't get a good amount of smoke out of it. Where is the best placement for the best smoke production??? Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Seahawk! I'm assuming that there was enough smoke flavor for your taste? Whatever I get will be wheel in and out of the garage extensively, so I like the comp cart on the Yoder, but I really like the wi-fi capability of the MAK...that is really my only dilemma.

    MES 40" chip loader

    I have a 2009 model, and my Dad has a 2012 model. I need to load chips every 30 minutes or so. I smoked on my Dad's last weekend, and loaded his 3 times in 5 hours. Also, my chips are charred but not ash. His were complete ash.  I have read about the bigger chip tray and loader, so I called...
