    First fatty - somewhat failed

Hear! Hear! Better to have rolled and lost than to have never rolled at all.

    Slim Jims and Summer Sausage

Agreed on both points: great looking sausage and introduce yourself in the Roll Call. Since you mentioned it in another post, I spend my Thursdays in a Northville coffee shop writing my sermon for the week. Welcome!

As promised... El Rancho BeBop FATTY w/Cadillac Marguerita Cheese Sauce

¡Eso es asombroso! Sorry you were ill. That's a winner there! Say, do the little mariachi guys do birthday parties?

    Domestic cat problems

Agreed. Don't take my post the wrong way. While there's probably something wrong with me finding some "humor" in my Dad's approach, richoso1's approach is far better. I'm wondering if the stuff it will work with skunks, which is a bigger concern at our house.

    Interesting article on kitchen myths

I agree with Richtee. The areas in which gas "wins" are the ones that concern me most. Besides, there's just something satisfying about cooking over FIRE! (Unfortunately, I don't get a choice and have to suffer with electric....)

    Domestic cat problems

Had the same problem in our neighborhood when I was a kid. There was a "cat lady" who lived down the alley, and every night a dozen or so of the hairballs would sit at our back fence. My dad raised English Setters, and the neighbor raised Cocker Spaniels. Needless to say, the other neighbors...

Discussion, how to produce smoke ring in electric smokers?

I did this fatty over the weekend over hickory chips in a KC Rival electric smoker/roaster (no water pan or anything like that). I need to get a better thermometer, but I cranked up the heat to between 250 and 300 (on the cute little knob labels they provided...). The resulting smoke ring...

    Smoking in IN

Welcome! Nice job on the ribs and the Q-view! (I had a buddy in college who was from Avon. No big deal, just thought you should know.)

    Newbie from NJ

Jumpin' in with both feet! And bringing Q to the East Coast (north of the M-D Line)! OH YEAH! Sounds like a feast, but the mantra is "No Q-view? It didn't happen." Welcome!

    Breakin out

They have to eat, right? Welcome aboard! I'm sure there's some toddler friendly fare to be found in the recipe threads. If not, perhaps that's your purpose/excuse for smoking more often?

    Congrats new Knights/tesses!

It's been said, "With great power comes great responsibility." Likewise with great honor, I believe. Of course, such honors often come after one has purposefully taken on responsibility and excelled. I appreciate the encouragement and insight these folks exhibited prior to nomination. The...

    Contest winners

Kudos to all! Thanks to BBQGoddess for launching/leading this. OK everybody, let's rest up. This is the plateau, not the end. As I said before: Roll it; Smoke it; Shoot it; Post it; Eat it; Repeat.

First fatty, some burnt ribs and some BEAUTIFUL wildflowers!

Stupid inanimate objects! They don't do what I want them to do either. It's almost like working with kids or cats. Wildflower-view definitely worth it! Believe it or not, there are things more spectacular than awesome Q-view.

    Reflections on the Throwdown

Wow! What a great time. Just when you thought the internet was a vast wasteland of filth and inane babble, you find a fatty throwdown. Lots of creativity, encouragement, and community; that's what I'm trying to encourage at the church, and you folks nailed it! Things I've discovered/learned: 1...

    The Winner Is BBQGODESS

This WAS the party at our house! My kids were into it; my wife was into it. We all participated, and now, all week, maybe into next week, we will be "respecting the meat!" Agreed. More fatties, more often!
