It is a beast. Runs like a Rolex. I think the flagship 1000 is pretty much the rebranded 700.

Smoking my first brisket this weekend, I've got a couple different pellets to choose from - what would be your pick?

Out of those 3 not sure what I’d use to be honest. Maybe the bourbon barrel? When I do briskets it’s usually oak and mesquite blend

    New smoker?

RecTec all day long. Traeger isn’t in the same category as rec tec. The reliability, consistency of temp control and the customer service sets it apart.

    Franklin's Barbecue...

Went to franklins a year ago. Well worth the wait in line. We were the first ones there and had a blast with other like minded people. It was the best brisket we had while in Texas or anywhere else for that matter

    New smoker?

I’d say Rec Tec is the best bang for the buck. Had mine for several years no issues

Shout Out for Recteq Customer Service

I have a Rec Tec Bull and it had a small bubble on the lid maybe 1/2 the size of a dime I mentioned it to them while I was ordering a interior shelf and when the shelf arrived they also sent me a new lid. Never asked or really complained and they took it upon themselves to send out a replacement...
