here's one that my wife makes every Christmas Eve,
2 to 3 pounds Hot Italian Sausage
2 packages of little smokies
16 to 20 onces of Sweet and Sour Sauce (red kind)
Cut up sausage into 1 inch pieces and brown in sauce pan for 5 minutes
when done browning place sausage in crock pot...

In the past I noticed that if I cooked them lower than 300 They came out with rubbery skin, I do same thing that seaham358 does, after I smoke them I crisp them up a little on the grill.

I have a Chargriller Pro with the side fire box. It is a great starter Stick Burner, but as has aready been mentioned it does need a mods. And yes it does leak like a sive, I use foil to plug the gaps durring cooks.
I will say that the metal on the new ones is a lot thinner than the one I have...

I started on the Charbroil H20 too!!! It taught me a lot about fire control and patience. Still turned out some pretty good que out of it before it got damaged in a windstorm.
You know,smoking in the snow is the first sign that you got it bad!
