Grilla Grills: WiFi Grills available for preorder!

Yup, and customer service is top tier. Just have less guerilla marketing than RT does. Can't go wrong with either one really

Grilla Grills: WiFi Grills available for preorder!

Grilla Grills isn't well known around here, but today they announced their new WiFi controller for their grills. Grills are available for preorder now, upgrade controllers are supposed to be available in 3 to 4 weeks. Upgrades are available at a discount for existing users. Has all the key...

    Looking for stackable pellet containers

I've used the Kingsford Charcoal containers, but also find that Tidy Cat litter comes in these really strong, stackable containers with a handle so they're easy to carry and pour. So I use those now. Hold like 30-40lbs of pellets per container.

Grilla Grill Silverbac Alpha Vs. Traeger Ironwood 650

Bingo. The temperature delta between the wall of the grill and the outside air is going to drive heat transfer. The lower half of the Grilla runs cooler than any other pellet grill I've had the opportunity to use (save my Father in-laws Timberline, which is also insulated in that area), which...

    LSG Cross Flow Technology

Wow that's really interesting. I just spent way too much on a baffle plate for my OK Joe and I still see a temp delta between sides. Wish I'd seen this, I would have tried it. My understanding is with cross-flow they're deflecting air from the firebox up behind the baffle, and then using the...

    Best Pellet Grill Under $3k

Not sure why people would recommend you things like Z-grills and RecTec when you have the budget for things like Yoder, Pitts and Spitts or MAK. I mean I love my Grilla, but you could have 3 fully decked out Silverbac's for your budget so you might as well invest that into a heavy-duty top-tier...

    Sealing up my smoker

Welding it is the best choice. Aluminum foil could be fashioned into a gasket, that's not a bad idea. The red RTV will work if you're careful, but if you burn sticks you're going to overheat it and it's going to smell horrible and melt and leak out of the gap. Ask me how I know. The firebox...

    Need help deciding

My god that Smokin Brother's grill looks awesome. Double wall insulation, heavy steel, hopper in the front doubles as a front shelf, unique design. If the money weren't a question I'd be looking pretty hard at that one.

    In search of new smoker

RecTec has a pretty cult following, and the Traeger hate on online forums is strong. Traeger makes a good grill, don't get me wrong, but for the money you can get a much more feature-rich grill by shopping other brands. The aestetics and a couple other things turned me away from the RecTec, I...

    Mildest Smoke Pellets

Are you on the east coast or west? If on the west coast, Traeger pellets are 70% Alder and so are very mild flavored. If you buy the Alder labeled bags they're 100% Alder wood, and if you cant find those then the Apple bags should also be quite mild. If you're on the east coast, the pellets...

Which pellet grill for the money?

The App store reviews of RecTec wifi are one of the things that drove me to look elsewhere lol. I didn't want to pay more for something and then have it not work for me. That said, I've rarely ever seen someone with either grill that wished they'd bought the other instead. Do your research up...

    Camp chef over feeding pellets

The cup overflowing with pellets isn't because the grill fed too many, it's because the pellets didn't catch fire. The grill kept feeding until it determined there was no fire, hence the error "flame out." Did you shut the grill down completely before ramping it up to 350? If not, you may have...

    Small sized pellet smokers

Have you shopped for pellet smokers or even googled them? Are there even any in the $150-$200 range? If there are they're probably complete trash. I mean the GMG Davy Crocket and the Pit Boss 340 are in the $300 range and they aren't exactly top of the line appliances. Even cheap chinese...

    Canadian Recommendations

Yes, I have the Grilla OG as they call it. The unique round-shaped one with a gorilla shaped window that you can see the fire and I love it. I also converted an old Traeger to use a Grilla controller because the Grilla had a meat probe, finer temp control and a proper shutdown sequence. My OG...

    Canadian Recommendations

I don't see Grila Grills listed there, but they deliver to Canada. If you're near Calgary you can even check some out in person. https://grillagrills.com/canada-shipping/

    Small sized pellet smokers

Most of the tailgate sized pellet grills will still fit a brisket, as long as you don't want to put anything else in there like a smoke tube or even a temperature probe. The Grilla Chimp will fit a 22lb (18.5lb trimmed) brisket. I'll attach a picture.

Which pellet grill for the money?

Nobody has mentioned the Grilla Chimp yet. The Chimp is the same size as the RecTec people are recommending, but it's in your price range at $529. Grilla has amazing customer service, but everyone says that about their company. The Chimp does have an upper rack that most grills in that size...

Bought a used Traeger because it was so cheap. I have a few questions...

Sorry you weren't getting the help you need. The old controllers don't have an adjustable P setting. If it doesn't have the hole then you can't adjust it. The newer controllers have adjustable P settings and a meat probe right? Those are good things, but still aren't adjustable in smaller temp...

RecTec bull horn handles, can they be changed?

In line with this, if your friend or neighbors have simple wood working tools then it's not too hard. I made a handle for an old Traeger recently. If I had a RecTec I'd do the same because the horns are tackier than a rainbow fanny pack full of....moving on! I got some 1x2 Oak stock, cut it...

    Pitt boss smoker.

Hey, you never know! Didn't want to answer an awkward post in a couple weeks about how none of the pellets burned lol. Also I don't place it on my top rack anymore since it drops ash. My smoker has a hot spot on one side, so I just put the tube there.
